The second A Nook for Rhyme Crooks was on May 25 + it was even better than the first!
Since we knew a bit more to expect + had a better sense of how to work the silhouettes, it was a much more engaging performance for the audience. Leo37, aka Triple, was an exciting new addition, Sp Williams killed his second Crook painting, + all of the performing Crooks totally brought it with their stories, vignettes + interludes.
Unfortunately there is no video from this one. I am honestly a little sad about that because I performed my first original rap! It is a story told by Jezibelle + Music about a ladies night out. Antithesis backed me up with guitar + Mellow Junkie was on the drums with a live version of the beat to Biggie’s “I Got a Story to Tell.” Super fun.
Since Tai, aka Prosperous, said 再見 to Taiwan last week + Antithesis is headed back to Cali in July, we’re gonna take a couple months to plan the next Taipei Nook + find new peeps to participate. I look forward to the next one + can’t wait to hit the ground running with it in NYC in the fall! Stay tuned, friends!
I didn’t take many pics at the event, but check out some more on the Red Room flickr site!
Also, peep this new LEO37 vid!
Go Crooks! xxx
